UFO Challenge 2011

I'm joining Judy's UFO Challenge 2011.  My list of entries is 12 projects long.  My goal is one finish a month of these mostly old, but a few new, projects that are partially complete.  Progress posts will be on my Home page, and completed project photos will be added here as they are finished. MARCH'S PICK!!

1  Rick Rack Road--Layer, quilt, bind, and label. FINISHED 4/1/11!

JULY'S PICK!
2  Judy's Mystery Quilt--layout and assemble center of top, cut and add borders, assemble backing, quilt, bind, and label. Center of top Finished 7/2011.

3  Caramel Blues--purchase border #1 fabric  done, finish top, assemble backing, layer and quilt, bind and label. NOT TOUCHED.

APRIL'S PICK!!
4  Cheddar and Cinnamon--finish blocks, assemble top, add border, quilt, bind, and label.  TOP FINISHED 5/4/11!

SEPTEMBER'S PICK! (swapped for #11)
5  Any Witch Way (2)--add final border to #1, quilt and bind, add eyelashes.  For #2, make free pieced names for witches. Piano key border added; free-pieced names finished 9/29/11.

JANUARY'S PICK!
6  Comfort Zone--Assemble backing, quilt and bind, label. DONE, 1/30/11! See below for update pics!

AUGUST'S PICK!
7  Patriotic Quiltalong Doll Quilt--assemble backing, layer and hand quilt, bind and label. Sandwich stage, Aug 2011

JUNE'S PICK!! 
8  Amish Stripes--Remove paper, square up blocks, assemble top, add border, backing, quilt and bind, label.  FINISHED 6/11/11!

MAY'S PICK!
9  Yuletide Blessings--layout and assemble top, buy backing and binding and sew, quilt and bind. QUILT SANDWICH STAGE COMPLETED

FEBRUARY'S PICK!
10  Bear's Paw Pillow--Complete pillow front, layer and hand quilt.  Assemble pillow back and stitch to front to finish. Done 2/28/11!  Scroll to bottom for update photos!

OCTOBER'S PICK!! (Swapped for #5)
11  9 Patch Quiltbuddies Swap--make additional 9 patch blocks, cut alternate blocks and setting triangles, assemble top, make backing and binding, quilt and bind, label. NOT TOUCHED.

12  Greenpiece BOM--make remaining pieced blocks and all applique wool blocks, and center tree medallion.

January 31, 2011    UFO #6 UPDATE

Comfort Zone (from Quilts and More mag) I put the last stitch in the binding late last night, but #6 is complete and ready to have it's bath:

I had fun quilting loop-de-loops in the center and serpentine lines in the borders.

I love a scrappy binding.

Quilted with invisible thread on top and dark green in the bobbin.

It even looks good thrown over the drum set!

March 1, 2011, UFO #10 update:  Bear's Paw Quilt.

After 11 years since I bought the kit, it is finally a finished project! 

April 1, 2011, #1 update:  Rick Rack Road (Quilt Sampler, Fall/Winter 2007).
