New Sewing Desk Complete!

My young man, Nick, the guy with the tools, helped me out for an additional hour and a quarter.  We attached the air lift, the sewing machine platform, put on the casters, both doors, both support wings for the top, and the extension table.

Adjusting the air lift for the machine to sit at the right height level with the table required some fiddling.

About to attach the final hardware--the doorknobs.  See how large the chair area is with the doors open?  My kneecaps should remain unbruised from now on.

The quilt extension leaf folds out with support legs.

And it slides over to wherever it is needed.  A very cool feature.

Thank you, Tall Young Man with Tools!

Here she is, all closed up and purty.  Bertha will get a new name and also some new doorknobs--I am not fond either of those that she came with.  Any name suggestions?

Wow! Lovely! I want one. Might be a problem though, open it all up and it is about the same size as my poor little sewing room. Name? Sorry I can't help you there, I don't name anything...including most of my quilts. I really reaaallly like the back table extension.

I am SO envious --your table looks like a quilting accessory I'd love to have, but I have nowhere to put one.
You were so lucky to have that Tall Young Man ready to help. It was not a simple project in a box, with all those extra features and extensions.

I checked a thesaurus for words connected with cupboard and bureau and storage.
The word "buffet" stayed with me. Maybe Buffie?

How nice to have this wonderful desk now (since you had to move out into the main room and lose your sewing room)! And it closes up and everything (but, we never will shut our sewing baby out of view, we may suffer separation anxiety)! And how very lucky you are to have your own "Tall Young Man with Tools" (so, does Nick hire out?)!
Hugs, pokey

Your cabinet is beautiful with some awesome features. Would you share the cabinet maker/company name? Definetly something to put on the wish list.
Thanks, Kim

That extension table is super freaking awesome!

The young man with tools is currying favour and you're going to owe him big time.

Happy Sewing.

that is one very well raised young man. not only does he help but he smiles while he's doing it~! it's wonderful when they become helpful adults isn't it?

as for a name . . . hhhmmmmm . . .
i'll have to think about that.

First off, not only is your tall young man a cutie - he is handy with tools. Is he available? I have a sort of tall young woman who is available!!

The desk is more wonderful than I thought it would be. I must start saving my pennies so I can have one too!

As far as a name, I think it will come to you when you sit at her and do some sewing. She will whisper her name and only you will hear it.

your sewing table looks great. I need to break down and quit sewing in my dining room. Your table has great features!
