A late night session resulted in both borders getting attached to my version of Flowers for Nana Girl, from Scrap Basket Sensations. The instructions called for a mitered border but with this busy of a print I didn't think it warranted the extra time and fabric.
This quilt has a deadline of this weekend. The pin basting will ensue tomorrow night and quilting and binding will be completed by Sunday night. There! I've said it and now just need to not make a liar out of myself. In other updates, the Christmas tree is finally fully decorated, I ordered the photo prints for our Christmas cards, and one more gift has been purchased. It's a good thing we had a family portrait taken at the wedding, since Erica is in Arizona at school and not available until late next week! I missed my tree decorating buddy--she usually helps me every year with the lights at least. Tonight my mom and I are going to enjoy some holiday cheer at a local movie theater showing of "It's a Wonderful Life", one of our favorites. Time to enjoy the season!
Ort: Noun, meaning a scrap; a bit. Usually plural. Words about quilting, fabric, family and life in a Southern California beach town.

I REALLY like this pattern!!! Good color choices!
Ok, we are going to see if you live up to your deadline....yes, we will be watching and waiting!
Love it! Cant wait to see the finished quilt. How do you quilt so fast???
I'll be cheering you on Annie.
Sounds like you're all organised for Christmas and ready to have some fun. I just have to wrap presents and then I can enjoy the next week.
Beautiful quilt. You made a good fabric choice.
Annie this is beautiful! Have fun with your mom at the movies tonight. It's a Wonderful Life is one of my favorites, too! :)
Wow - after seeing bits and pieces of this quilt, I absoltely love it put together, Annie! I know you'll make it sing even more with the quilting! BTW - the wedding quilt looks fabulous on the newlyweds bed! Have fun with your mom!
Cheers!
Oh my! You have a tight time frame for quilting and finishing the quilt. Lovely color choices. Very pretty. I agree re: a mitered border. Unless it's a stripe or print that really shows when the miters match, I seldom do it.
Sounds like you're pretty well set for the holiday.
