Picnic

I ran out of my Picnic leader-enders some time ago and have been stitching the bonus triangle cutoffs into small HSTs in the meantime.  However, I need to make three dozen more 6" blocks for the larger 10x12 setting I decided on--it was time to lay out and see what colors I desire more of.

There are more green and gold blocks than any other color, which is fine.  You can see that Mini, my Supervisor, is helpfully holding down the Scrap Basket Sensations book with the Picnic quilt on the cover.  Kim Brackett, the designer, has announced another book in the Scrap Basket series and I will surely buy that one too.

Mini proceeded to walk the layout job.

The gold blocks apparently met with approval.

More green, more gold, some blue, brown, and much needed reds.  Blue is a color lacking in my stash and will require further digging through my scrap boxes and stored stash to come up with  more variety.  I likely won't repeat any more of the fabrics I already used either.

Mini seemingly likes this one a lot.  Me too!

That's my very favorite quilt pattern of Kim's. Yours is looking so cozy. Obviously Mini feels the same.

It must be so nice to have mini around to keep you on track, hold down books, choose fabrics, etc.
Love this quilt. I think I even have the book somewhere. Maybe I need to borrow Mini to help me find it. : )

The scrap quilt is beautiful! I'm going to have to find that book. I need SOMETHING to help me go through my scraps faster!

Hi Mini! You sure are a pretty kitty!

I LOVE that book. It's embarrassing how many of the pages I have marked for my Bucket List. Picnic is one of them. Your color palette is yummy. My cat Tigger is also helpful with layout and ensuring that each block has an equal amount of fur applied.

"Picnic" was a quilt I started this summer--I think. I got distracted and went to something else and I should have done leaders and enders like you did -- smart lady! That's the way to get a quilt done.
Nice controlled colors that you've pulled from your stash. It's going to be a beauty.

The quilt is coming along nicely. Beautiful colors and fabrics! Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope your assistant is more helpful than mine. :-)

I started a quilt from that book a year ago! It's all cut out and ready to sew - now where did I put that project? I have too many almost finished to get distracted now but soon... Yours is looking great, love the colors in this one a lot.

Ooh I'm excited to hear there will be another Scrap Basket book! I have both the others and have just finished making "Flowers for Nana Girl". I have plans for more, pages are marked! I like your Picnic quilt.

Rocking the reds there...thats my favourite colour.

All of your projects need the Mini stamp of approval before you proceed. Mordecai is the project inspector here - he simply must roll on everything.

I have to agree with Mini - my first impression was more reds!
