Halloween Report

Weird year for our street--started late, ended early, long gaps between groups. We were left with two unopened bags of candy. Very dangerous thing.
Lucy dressed up.

Amelie didn't really want to.

My sister said there were a couple of haunted houses a few streets over so that must have held the trick-or-treaters up. Erica was handing out handfuls of treats at the end. It was all over before 8:30.  Next year will be different, I'm sure!

What a cute witch! We were loaded to the gills with candy this year and only had two ring the doorbell... our own grandchildren. Although it was very nice having them come by to show off their CUTE costumes we were sad not to have had more.

You know if you hadn't bought those extra bags of candy you would have had hoards of kids and you would have been hiding in your house by 8:00 with all the lights off. It's impossible to judge from one year to the next how much you'll need so just freeze it and push it wayyyyyyyyyyy back in the freezer!

We live in the country where there are fields and pastures between houses, and no sidewalks. Parents have to drive their kids around to trick-or-treat. So, many years ago a group of Mom's started the trunk-or-treat thing at the local church and since then we NEVER have a trick-or-treater at our door. Now we spend the evening at our daughter's home with the grandkids. The neighborhood is full of children and the doorbell rings all evening! It is fun. : )

Yes, I've heard lots of tricker treater reports like yours. So many churches and businesses are doing the 'trunk' or treat events. I wonder it that is why??

Crazy cats!!!!

You should have spray painted the cats black ...

No trick or treating here either. I had trick or treaters three years ago and didnt have anything but Tim Tams to give away - every year since Ive laid in candy and end up eating it myself !

Yeah, I had quite a bit left over as well. Started out giving two to each T or T-er and wound up giving 5 or 6. You just never know. My niece sent me a pix of her cat with a similar hat on (tho hers had witch's hair, too..HA). Poor kitties!!

It was the same here. Started early, ended early, with a stretch between groups. No haunted houses in our neck of the woods, but it was a school night.
