The above brick building was a very fine jewelry store for decades. The inlaid tile work is wonderful. One of my favorite downtown sights. Now it is a popular upscale restaurant called Watermark. There is a new bar on the top of the building with ocean views.
This is the Erle Stanley Gardner building. Yes, the creator of lawyer extraordinaire Perry Mason practiced law in Ventura and wrote some of the books here in the building.

Thank you for the mini tour. That old jewellery store building is certainly different!
Wow, I was reading this post while Perry Mason was playing on the TV in the background. Cool! : )
That is a great building that used to be a jewelry store. Lots of character.
Smart lady to have your stitching along. You never know when you will need things to keep your hands busy for an extended period of time.
My father read every Perry Mason book every published and for a time I was a follower as well. Looks like you are having a great time!
Beautiful buildings. At least you had time to stitch, one advantage of being on the bus.
