Design Wall Monday

On my Design Wall are more bowtie blocks.  I need to cut a lot more background squares in order to put together a bunch more already cut out, but I'm up to more than 3/4 of the 50 blocks I need.
Also a lot of cutting got done for piecing the backing of Erica's quilt.  She is begging for it to be done! I still have not figured out how I am going to put it all together but bought more of the cream background, all my LQS had.  I may end up buying yet more yardage to fill out for the 93" square backing needed for this queen sized quilt!

The backing so far is just her initials, E O.
I considered using some of the purple suede to frame the initials but decided it is too soft and drapey to be a good frame.  On to the next idea!  Go here to view all the other Design Wall Mondays on Judy's blog.  See this to participate in my little giveaway for my 200th post.

This quilt is lovely. I am loading my queen on to the quilting frame this week. I vow I am never making one so big again, until the next time. ;) Very creative use of fabrics for the EO. I like that alot.

still loving your backing...I make a lot of big quilts-I just don't like binding them!

It is fantastic to see a back so pretty!

The back art is incredible. I love words or initials on quilts and your EO design is fabulous. When choosing the rest of the fabric for the "back," I'd consider the possibility it could become a second "front."

Yes, I agree: your back art is great. I never even thought about putting initials into a quilt.

I wanted something small to use up bow tie blocks from a BOM exchange. This was a fundraising quilt. I used all 13 of them to make Bow Tie Bears which I backed with a warm gold flannel print. http://www.kwiltnkats.com/Fundraisers/fundraisers.htm if you want to see. I thought I was pretty clever. You have such a wonderful back going for Erica's quilt what's the front look like? Is it the bow ties? Looks like the fabrics work together.

Wow what a great job with the backing. It is so creative when someone takes the time to make the back as pretty as the front.
