Bricks and Stepping Stones is a Bonnie Hunter design (quiltville.com). Hers is totally scrappy and mine is controlled scrappy. This is a quilt for my last remaining sibling still quiltless. He likes coffee so I chose a few themed fabrics and lots of my favorite small geometrics and some textured solids. I decided to make it easier on myself by using only one black and one white. It is hard to find a good, dark black, isn't it? See more Design Walls on Judy's Patchwork Times.
Ort: Noun, meaning a scrap; a bit. Usually plural. Words about quilting, fabric, family and life in a Southern California beach town.

What fun! I love how you differentiate between totally and controlled scrappy. LOL! Have fun with this -- it will be fun to watch your project "unfold"! :)
Mmmmmm, I can smell the coffee brewing. Great colors.
It's always exciting to start a new project. Yours looks like fun. I love Bonnie's instructions. I have a bunch printed out like the one you have there. Happy New Year, Annie.
Love controlled scrappy! Looking forward to seeing this one evolve, great fabric choices.
mmm....lovin' that coffee fabric! The color combination also! Will be watching this quilt as it develops.
Happy New Year!
Yes...good black fabrics are hard to find. This will be a wonderful quilt...what's that I smell?? Coffee brewing? Or a quilt being born??!
LOVE the colours in those fabrics. I really dislike working in black because it picks up every piece of fluff within a 10 mile radius of my house....
Love Bonnie Hunter's stuff - I've printed out this one too but haven't gotten to it yet. Your fabric choices are great - this will be a wonderful quilt!
Annie, that pattern is one I've loved and keeping remembering I'd like to make. **sigh** there are lots I'd like to make, lol. I love the fabrics you've selected :)
Love the colors that you've picked for this one. I agree, it is really hard to find a good dark black. I have one and I wish I'd bought more of it!
I have made this pattern from Bonnie's website twice. It goes together so easily and is so striking! I'm sure yours will turn out great, too!
