Yes, my love of red and green quilts continues, this time with deeper burgundy reds and a variety of greens. I redrafted the pattern to make it 63" square and also am using my favorite version of a churn dash block. There will be lots of different neutral background fabrics, including some stripes. I'll start the cutting with the appliqued basket blocks. See more design walls on Judy's Patchwork Times.

Design Wall Monday--Feb 27, 2012
On my design surface today is a new project. Since I'm having trouble with the Mystery Quilt, my UFO pick of the month (see my previous post, Math Is A Four Letter Word ), I'm salving the hurt with some planning and petting of luscious fabrics. This project has been on my list since I saw it in the McCall's Quilting September/October 2010 magazine and I've been gathering fabrics for a while. I picked up some of these deep red prints at the Road to California show from the Primitive Gatherings booth.

A new project on your design surface - woohoo!!!!
Oooo-I love those reds! And with churn dash blocks, as far as I'm concerned this will be a winner!!
Beautiful colors and fabrics. I love how you plan to 'make it yours'
Good size too.
This is the second blog today I've seen that someone is making this pretty quilt. :o) I love baskets.
Love the churn dash blocks! It's going to look great in those colors you've collected. Hope you have fun getting started in that and are ready to face that mystery quilt again soon!
Lovely colors, I like them a lot! New projects are always so inspiring. Have a wonderful day.
I love Churn Dash blocks and those reds are to die for. It's going to be a beauty.
It feels like eons since I started a new quilt(or finished one for that matter !)
Churn dash is one of my favorite blocks. It will be fun to see what you do with this gorgeous fabric.
Looks like great fun! Love the fabrics you are starting with!
love those burgundy reds....nothing better then red and green quilts! good for you making the quilt your own and fitting into your style
can't wait to see more

New projects are such fun! I love the process of making a pattern "my own" and picking fabrics and what not. Enjoy! :)
such pretty colors. I don't need to do much red and green - maybe I need to do a hexie diamond in those colors....
This quilt caught my eye too, when the magazine showed up in my mailbox many months ago. It's charming, not forehead-sweating difficult, and your fabric choices are great. I'll be following your progress and enjoying every step.
