Design Wall Monday--July 16, 2012

On my design floor today is the newest project in my sewing room.  Not that I don't have lots of other projects ahead of it, but excitement pushed it forward.

The JoAnn's flyer is there for size comparison.  These giant 24" blocks were a blast to put together.  Three more and I'll have a quilt center--a border will make it throw sized.  The wedding they are intended for as a gift is in early October so there is no rush, but I was eager to see how these fabric choices from stash worked together.  I think they do!  Other colors to join these may be a very dark brown print, a multicolor print with some of the same colors, and maybe an orangey yellow, I don't know.  Any other color ideas for these modern shoo fly blocks?  See more design walls on Judy's Patchwork Times.

Fun blocks, fun colors. It's so hard to wait to start a new project. They'll all get done at some point right?

I'm not real educated on the modern quilt colors.
Have you been thinking, as you have been piecing, how you want to quilt this? Just curious. : )

BIG is in! Great colors.

I love those BIG blocks. I think a mustard colour would work well in there too!

Those blocks do look fun, and fun to make. I think you could add almost any color you wanted.

These are such fun blocks! Glad you added the ad for scale. I think some fabric is a golden color could look good with this group - I know the right one is lurking in your stash, it just needs to be found - LOL!
