These six wool appliqué blocks have been making the bus trip with me for far too long. The butterfly got her head and and antennae, the peach its stem and leaves, the bird her beak. I cut the tiny stars and stripes for the watermelon but they await stitching. The pansy only needs its center, and the apple got a leaf. I'm undecided about putting seeds on it, they are so tiny!

DD Erica arrived in late afternoon with her uncle and cousins, and all her stuff, so now my sewing room looks like this:
But that's ok, it's temporary :). See more design walls on Judy's Patchwork Times.

Your daughter's stuff scattered around just made me laugh. I remember all too well the days when my boys were bouncing back and forth between home and school and room mates and home and new apartments and home and... Eventually everyone settled into their own permanent spot but it was a few years of chaos to deal with .
I remember that project, you've made a lot of progress on those bus trips.
Looks like a really cute project, Annie. How nice to be able to make progress on your commute! : )
Your progress on the bus rides is impressive. Does anyone else on the bus ask about your stitching? or do you spot glances from interested watchers?
Hopefully the temporary additions to your sewing room will find new spots soon. A frustrated quilter, one who loses her elbow room, is not someone pretty to deal with--at least in this house. Maybe you're more patient than I am.
Welcome home Erica. Im sure that sewing room of yours will look "normal" again soon Annie.
Im really liking the project on your design wall this week...something so apeeling (yes that was deliberate) about it.
It's nice to have a take-along project. My Army son came home and filled my garage...I know the feeling. Enjoy her while you can.
Oh yes ... Many of us relate loved ones arriving back home to roost a bit....thankfully temporary but moments to be treasured as life just too short! I look forward to seeing your next finish...you sew girl!
So sorry your sewing room will be a bit more difficult for a little while with DD Erica needing temporary space. I think the apple needs a worm! Lovely project. Sandi
I really like your project: I have never worked with wool/felt. And if it were me, I would use those boxes as surfaces to put things on, at least until she is ready to move on. ;-)
