Slow Sunday Stitching

Since it is now much lighter in the day when I am taking the bus home from work, I can actually stitch again.  Those overhead LED reading lights on the bus weren't really meant for handwork!

This little scrappy table mat is getting its binding stitched down.  I had fun quilting it with some free motion loops in the center section and then used a scalloped stitch on my machine to make a sort of ribbon in the borders.  Totally imperfect but simple--no need to over think :).

I originally brought this little quilt (Pink Lemonade from Lori's Doll Quiltalong) to handstitch on the bus, but when I looked at it again, I realized those plain squares really cried out for some sort of motif and I didn't have one in mind, so I brought it back home to ponder.  Please excuse my poor nighttime-bad-light photo.

Also in the pondering pile is this scrappy table runner I put together a couple of weeks ago.  Machine or hand quilt?  Hmmm...

I had very little left of that Jo Morton caramel print in the star blocks and Janet O was kind enough to send me a half yard that was resting in her stash.  The runner used three of the four star blocks I had made, so now I can cook up a few more stars to join it.  Thank you so much, Janet O!

I'm linking up with Kathy's Slow Stitching Sunday.  Happy Quilting!

So wonderful to have you at the slow stitching party today! It is getting lighter here too, and I am enjoying extra minutes of hand stitching time.
Love the term "pondering pile"! I have a big one!!
Enjoy your slow stitching!

Love the table mat. I think you made the perfect choice with your quilting.

I think your table runner needs some lovely hand quilting.

A trio of beauty today Annie.

Lots of fun and lovely projects to contemplate. I'm no help on the decision to hand stitch or not, since I've never done it myself, I don't feel qualified to make a suggestion.

How sweet that Janet send you some extra fabric ... and beautiful fabric it is, too! Yum!

All of these projects are really lovely, but the first one you have shown off appeals to most. Lovely mix of colours, and you have done some pretty quilting.

Happiness is a stash to share. You have some wonderful little projects to keep you busy. Can't wait to see the motif you select for the pretty yellow quilt.

Table runner is coming along nicely. I do like the loops stitching design. Almost done with it. Natural daylight is the best for sewing.

I love the free motion quilting in the table mat. Good lighting is a must when we are stitching, can't wait to see how you quilt the other table runner.

Such pretty projects. I wonder which one will be selected to be worked on next.
