Design Wall Monday--2/13/17

A few things on--and off--the design wall:

Our Guild is 5 years old this month.  The challenge was to create a block with five things in it.  I chose Tri-Recs blocks.  I used my new V-Block ruler to trim them to perfect size.

DD Erica sent this pic of the Star-Crossed quilt in use. She wrote of her cat, "Lucy likes it" :)

Yesterday I finished the quilting on the Baby Flying Geese quilt.  I like it so far.  I've also prepared the binding so it will go on soon.

Another Guild project--gone wrong.  I sewed the smaller colored squares to the wrong size background.  I suppose this will give me "design opportunities" to finish the top!

A few minutes of stitching late Saturday afternoon produced another finish--Poinsettias and Pomegranates is finally done.  Only 6 years in the making!

That is a very strikingly dramatic looking block made with tri-recs.
Erica is a beautiful girl. She and her cat look cozy in their new quilt. : )
Your baby flying geese quilt looks great with the quilting job you did.
I see you were planning to make more "frogs". I'll be interested to see where the new design opportunities take you.
Very nice finish on your Cross-stitch, but the nail polish is no longer matching! *LOL*

Love your guild block! Tri recs are my favorite shape rulers. I love all the different designs those simple blocks create.
DD's cat is a smart quilt judge. The quilt is gorgeous as is DD.
Good luck with your done wrong blocks. You'll figure something out. And your stitchery is wonderful!

The baby flying geese is really cute. I've got projects much older than that so six years is a pretty early finish, in my book.

Your "5" block is very interesting. What are you going to do with it?

Love your flying geese quilt! That is a pattern I'm considering for one of my scrap bin quilts.

Don't you just love quilt hugs! DD and kitty look very happy.

Loving the flying geese quilt! Always great to see quilts being used and loved...DD and kitty look like they are loving it! A finish is always good...especially one a few years in the making!

Very fun guild challenge block. That would make a very dynamic quilt. The Baby quilt turned out beautifully. It's nice when the family loves and uses their quilts. Happy stitching this weekend.

Okay, no matching nail polish this time ;-) Your daughter is beautiful and isn't it nice to see quilts being used?
