Grandma loved simple things and nature. She and I liked a lot of the same colors and especially favored handmade things. Grandma made my sister and me lots of dresses when we were girls.
I remember many great family meals served on these plates. Grandma was a "from scratch" cook who made it look effortless. See the "twig" handle on the gravy boat? And the adorable apple salt and pepper shakers.
Sweet little cream and sugar dishes. I have six boxes full of Grandma's collected dishware. Some are much older than others but all are charmingly hand painted. I just love them. Miss you, Grandma!

Oh, thank you for sharing this! My own grandma had these as well, and I loved them. I received 4 dessert cups when the set was all divided up, and I feel so close to her when I use them. : )

What a beautiful set of dishes. I love the twig handle on the gravy boat and I love the idea of using something that has been used for lots of happy times within a family for special occasions.
These are very Thanksgiving like and those salt and pepper shakers are just darling!
You were lucky weren't you, they are gorgeous. They look perfect for Thanksgiving. I love the salt and pepper shakers, really really cute.
How sweet that you have her dishes and lots of precious memories to share. I've seen these pieces in antique stores but never such a nice, complete set.
They are really pretty and you have such great memories attached to them. You can't buy that at Williams Sonoma, that's for sure.
My grandmother also gave me her apple dishes! I love them. They were on my Thanksgiving table as well. Aren't we lucky?
Beautiful dishes and it's great that you use them. It's great that you keep some of her traditions and memories alive.
These dishes are very pretty. I love owning things that belonged to loved relatives. I have some of my German grandmother's coffee cups and deserts dishes. They mean so much to me.
What a beautiful set of dishes--made even more so by the wonderful memories of your grandmother. Lovely!
These are so cool! You are lucky to have received them. Each piece is so interesting!
These same dishes were in my maternal grandmother's china cabinet, and I'm sad to say that I have no idea where they are now. There were +30 grandchildren, and dividing up her meager possessions was impossible. I never see this china pattern without thinking of my sweet grandma.
You're a lucky lady to have them and cherish them and use them.
These are gorgeous! What makes them even more lovely is your connection to them with your Grandma. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful Favourite! Happy Sunday! :o)
Long ago, when I was a child, our neighbor had those dishes. I loved them! I don't see them much anymore. My mom had the Desert Rose version, which I now have. It feels like a special occasion when we use them.
I remember those dishes! I love them. And don't you know, with those red and green colors, you can keep on using them all through the holidays!
I love these dishes! So glad they went to someone who would use and appreciate them.
