Design Wall Monday, Jan 3, 2011

It was really cold today for So Calif, 42 degrees on my front porch at 11:00 AM, windy, rainy and generally miserable.  A good day to spend at the sewing machine.  I got all the units finished for the Kitchen Sink quilt and cut the setting triangles.  Here it is all laid out:
I already played some switcheroo but think it's going to stay as it lays!

I purposefully made an all matching paddlewheel, just for fun.  I'm glad I added a bit of green to break up the red and blue.  There will be a narrow border and then I'll use the same fabric as the setting triangles for a wide border.  The finished size is about 53 x 58".  See other design walls on Judy's blog.

I love that quilt.....it is on my list of quilts to make....it's a long list :). Love the color choices especially the all matching block! I try sooooo hard to make blocks 'random'.....how fun to make one all the same!

Super proud to see a quilt here. I feel like I've been stunned by Christmas. Ready to bring on quilts!

The green and gold you added are definitely a nice break from the red and blue.
That one unique paddle wheel adds a great surprise to your quilt. I love seeing blocks like that in a quilt.

Sorry your weather and temps aren't better. Warmer and dry would be much more enjoyable.

You cleaned up so much after Christmas, that I didn't recognize the place/blog! Love the layout and the all red block is a great idea!

I love the one matching block. Have that book and will have to make a note of that in case I get around to making that quilt.

What a fun pattern. I love the simplicity of it once you look at the individual blocks.

Love the quilt. I had to look closely at the picture to see the pattern you used! I, too, like the single block that has the same fabric. Makes it just a 'twist' different!

This is really a pretty quilt, I was glad you showed the way it was pieced as I couldn't quite figure out the block. That is really pretty neat he way it is pieced you would just have to watch how you match the colors. I may have to try this1
