400th Post Giveaway

The giveaway is now closed.  Thanks for entering!

Slow but sure, the posts have built up to this 400th one!   I started blogging in February 2009 and have enjoyed all the interaction with readers and thank each and every one of you for visiting or following or commenting or just stopping by and taking a look at my little corner of blogland.  I appreciate you!

To celebrate, I am giving away my latest quilt, Amish Stripes.  This is the only paper pieced project I ever started, way back in about 2003 or so, and it has languished since in a box, until Judy's Patchwork Times UFO Challenge.  It is 24 x 30 and is bound and backed in Kona black and machine quilted.

To enter my giveaway, no special leaps, bounds, or somersaults are required.  But I do want information--I am curious to know:  What the three non-quilting accessories you MUST have at your fingertips while sewing/quilting?  Mine are a calculator, a nail file, and Verbena hand lotion by L'Occitane (love that stuff!).

I will keep the giveaway open until Saturday, June 18th at 5 pm.  Please make sure I have a way to contact you by email, either through a profile or by including your email in your comment.  Don't have a blog or profile?  No problem--send an email to me at:   vtaannieo(at)gmail(dot)com.  I'll either use Mr. RNG or throw all the names in a bowl and let DH or son pull out the winner's name.  Hope you'll join in!

Congrats on your 400th post! My nonquilting essentials would be a can of Diet Mt. Dew, a radio or computer for some great background music, and hopefully an open window for some sunshine and warm breezes! (However, being a Chicago native, I don't get much of #3!)

Beautiful quilt.

I use a bamboo skewer as a stylist tohelp guide fabric in place. I also use a Sanford Uni-Ball ONYX fine point pen for fabric marking. And I have a memory makers cup holder that attaches to any table, to prohibit beverages from tipping over.

My three non essential quilting accessories are:
Music , Chocolate and at least one cat or dog in the sewing room. (Chocolate is the most important of the three!)

Congratulations Annie on your 400th post. I so enjoy popping in here every day and seeing what you're getting up to . I love the day trips you take us on round your neighbourhood, and your quilting and Tuesday Orts. I'm definitely glad to have made your acquaintance. Im looking forward to the next 400 posts!

Congratulations on your 400th post! I use an notebook and pen or pencil quite often while I'm quilting. I might write down my grocery list, figure how much binding to cut, sketch free motion quilt designs, make to-do lists, etc. I think better when I write things down. The third thing would be some chocolate and a fourth, the radio to keep me entertained.

Congratulations on your 400th post! Non-essential items that I have to keep close by when quilting is... a Diet Coke, that is a must; the remote, I usually have the TV on to keep me company; and my camera, it is amazing how the camera can help you see the pattern easier.

400 posts.....well done...I have been blogging for longer but am about a hundred posts behind..LOL...the three non-quilting "tools" I have to have on hand? Tea or hot choccy depending on the weather, entertainment (TV/audio book etc) and camera......and for those quilting breaks....chocolate!! I know ...that's four....but the choccy only comes out in the breaks so as not to get it on the quilt!

Very gorgeous offer. My three are a calculator, little black one that is ancient, post it notes and a pen stuck to my machine so when I think of something for quilting on a different project or this one or not quilting related at all, I can make a note and keep going.

400 posts!! Oh my, congratulations!! And thanks for a chance to win this wonderful quilt. I really need to have that little thingie (not sure what it's called) that has a thin wire and helps thread needles...and my living room floor which is in 12 inch parquet tiles - perfect for measuring and squaring up larger quilts. Oh, Annie, your Amish stripes are fabulous. The first class I ever took was Amish given by Roberta Horton (back in early1980s.) So my first little quilt was an Amish stripes! I always need my computer nearby with something from Netflix going, Gilchrist & Soames handlotion, and my handy dandy graph paper pad & pencil to draft ideas I see when blog hopping.

I need to have my blue paper tape and the paper slips around to start sewing on the small piece of HSTs to start the sew line process, and the trash can and the working area clean and pins at the touch to help pin .carol aka kingcooper0001@aol.com
