- On our downtown errand on Saturday we witnessed the Grinch with his sleigh and Cindy Lou Who in some live-action play in a pocket park. We only caught glimpses as we drove by but it looked entertaining.
- Looking forward to the shortest day of the year so we can start back to more evening light. This pitch dark at 5:30 thing gets old fast. And our parking lot's motion detector lights at work are very temperamental. Sometimes it requires jumping up and down on a certain spot!
- My sister Kathy and her daughter and boyfriend are driving out from Missouri for Christmas. They are leaving the 23rd and driving straight through, 30+ hours. I said that the 2 AM to 6 AM shift would be brutal, but she said "Not for me--'cause I'm not doing it!" Smart woman.
- Things I don't understand: Sheer bodices on wedding gowns. Ick.
- Christmas cards flood the stores this time of year but we are not getting very many in the mail. Not that I've sent any out yet this year either...it's still early, right?
- The quilt inspector did a brief QC review of the wedding quilt.
I know it appears that she was on her way to the water dish, but I prefer to think my work didn't need close inspection.

I think Christmas cards are almost dead. We've sent none and only got two so far.
A 30 hour drive doesn't sound like much fun at all. I did 53 hours straight in a bus once and have never travelled by bus again since.
Once upon a time I used to make my Christmas cards, I'd send approx 50 out each year. I don't do that amy more, in fact the last two years I haven't sent out any, and I've only received a handful! I'd rather keep in touch with people all through the year than just send them a card at Christmas.
Cute post. I bet the Grinch in the park thing would have been fun to see in its totality! I'm pretty sure your QC officer knows quality when she walks past it to her water bowl! We haven't put cards in the mail yet this year -- I think we're going to do a newsletter instead. It's been such a busy, busy year! :)
I agree about the wedding dresses!!
Here kitty kitty kitty!!!
I am very tired of the long nights too. The Christmas lights help to make it less dreary, but it gets on the nerves! It's dark here at 5 pm.
Hardly any cards received so far. It's early - mine are going in the mail tomorrow.
We've received only one Christmas card so far--if you don't count the "holiday" address labels sent by my insurance man. This year he sent lime and pink and orange. Yuk. I prefer traditional, so even though I should be grateful for the "free" labels, they went into the trash.
I don't make my cards anymore, but there is a particular shop here that sells Lang cards, and they are always beautiful, so I buy a couple of boxes every year. This year I sent out 34. There were a couple of names that had to be taken off the list; friends and family who have passed on. That part was sad. But I think people still love getting surprise handwritten cards in the mail, and it doesn't cost that much.
A bout of insomnia night before last insured that they all got addressed and sent out!
Cards? May not happen this year, unless my Guy does them.
