Mini likes playing with my tape measure. I'm glad someone is enjoying this---because I'm not! This is the underside of the Mystery Quilt sandwich as laid out on tables. You can see three layers and there seems to be a MATH problem because the green print at the top of the photo is the backing, which is supposed to be the LONGEST layer of this sandwich--you should not be able to see the other layers. So not only is the backing a foot short but the batting is also not long enough.
Taking a break for chocolate and despair. Be back soon.

Oh, so frustrating!!
Lots and Lots of chocolate I'm sure. Sorry for the frustrations but I hope it will be an "easy" fix.
No argument here that MATH is a four letter word....! Have had my share of despair and chocolate moments...good luck - hope you get it sorted!
I could have told you that. Math and I have never been friends. I keep close company with people who were math brains in school. It has helped my quilting immensely.
Oops. Been there, done that. And....I have spent time accurately piecing additional backing and batting to the WRONG side making it a double mistake.
Chocolate will fix darn near everything. Holding out a positive thought for a successful resolution to your real-life math story problem (I hate those things).
That was a double chocolate moment Annie. Hopefully the chocolate gave you some inspiring way of fixing your dilemma.
Ahhh...quilting break time.
Piece it or replace it?
I know what I'd probably do...
