Special Day

COMMENTS ARE NOW CLOSED--THANKS FOR PLAYING!

Today is a special day--it is my blogaversary.  Three years ago I stepped into this vibrant place called blogland and have been fortunate that folks have stopped by to visit, encourage, comment, and come back for more, to my gratitude and pleasure.  I've been lucky to meet some of you in person and am glad to call you my blog friends.  To celebrate this occasion I'm having a little giveaway.

Handmade is best in my book so I stitched up this 18" mini scrap quilt for the giveaway (I should have used a level to hang it up, apparently!).  Also included are some Valentine flavored fat quarters, the little wooden plaque, and a quilt kit from Cotton & Chocolate.

A closeup of the kit shows the traditional colors and cute basket blocks.  Cotton & Chocolate is a wonderful quilt shop in Thousand Oaks, about a 25 minute drive away, and always a fun place to visit with its mix of modern and traditional designer fabric lines.  Cotton & Chocolate will be featured in the Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler 2012 magazine.  They are very excited about it!

To enter my giveaway, I'm interested in knowing what's on your quilt bucket list as an absolute must-make for 2012.  Mine is the Moda Greenpiece block of the month that is on my UFO list and will be my most ambitious project to date once finished, with its combination of wool applique and pieced stars.

No other hoops to jump through other than checking back to see if you've won.  International entrants are welcome.  Don't have a blog or not on Blogger?  Send me an email at vtaannieo (at) gmail (dot) com.  The giveaway will be open until Saturday, February 11th at 10:00 a.m. and the winner will be chosen by random drawing with immediate announcement of same.

Congrats on your 3rd year! Not sure I go back 3 years, but I've surely enjoyed your posts.

My must-do list for this year includes my apple core. Started last year, but set aside for awhile. I love the colors and the pattern, but I must say, it is a tedious one. I want to finish it soon as I work my way out of the current projects. I usually do 1 at a time. Not sure how I came up with 3 concurrent. shewww After the apple core is done.... yep, I'm wanting to do a basket.

Thank you for putting together such a lovely celebration draw. I hope you will keep on blogging for a good long time.

My goal this year is to complete 4 big quilts that I have not begun ( LOL) and to finish quilting two others. As well I should finally get my cube quilt made... That is a lofty list isn't it... I have finished two quilts that were started last year and I do have one of the four big ones cut out... The other three I have fabrics for one and only the germ of an idea for the other two.. I would be thrilled if I get most of these quilts finished.. I still have a couple of UFOS that I could do too... Guess that means I plan to be a busy girl..
Congratulations on your blog anniversary- May you continue to enjoy blogging and quilting -
Regards from Western Canada,
Anna

Congratulations on your blogversary (yes, that should be a real word)

I've accepted the challenge to make and donate 12 Quilts of Valor in 2012. I've donated 3 so far, and 2 more are being machine quilted by two volunteer longarmers. It's too early to predict, but I think 12 QOV is a realistic goal for me.

Hmmmm...bucket list? I've got several on there (on my NewFO list) but really only one of them is a must make for 2012 -- the t-shirt quilt for my niece. There are definitely quilts I feel compelled to finish this year -- my Pineapple Quilt and my Orange Crush and Joc's wedding quilt! Congratulations on the milestone, Annie! Lovely giveaway! :)

Happy Blogaversary.
I have lots of quilts that I would like to attempt, and trying to pick out one that I just have to make this year is really difficult. It will probably be a triangle quilt, umm or maybe a quilt using drunkard's path blocks.
Love the red and white mini scrap quilt, thank you so much for the chance to join in the giveaway.

Happy Blogiversary! I have so many UFOs that I want to finish. I think I'd like to get the rest of Barbara Brackman's Civil War blocks done and get that one finished.

Hmm what's on my bucket list? I roll pretty free here with whatever strikes my mood went I want to start something altho I am trying to stick to UFOs lately. I really want to finish my hexie and civil war quilts for the county fair in August (and then I can start another hexie quilt yeah!!!!) but I did promise Denise (http://daneesey.blogspot.com/) to start my broderie perse quilt this year so I can show her instead of trying to explain it. I've got plenty of UFO's on my list this year but nothing else that is do or die.

Congratulations on your anniversary! On my bucket list is a snowball quilt made with oriental fabrics. I've made two other quilts using those fabrics with other patterns and gave them away. This time I'll be keeping the quilt for myself!

I have six quilts waiting for bindings! After that my 18 year old granddaughter has requested a quilt with a large patchwork elephant, in blue. She was very specific, and this isn't my normal style. I have tons of others I want to make, but Erin's will be first.

Hi Anne, The main quilt I must make this year is Ruffled Roses. It was the 2011 BOM featured on The Quilt Show. Just love it.

Hearty congrat's on your blog anniversary. The years are cruising past way too quickly, aren't they?
Great group of gifts, Annie. Someone is going to be a lucky winner.
I have a long list of 2012 projects I could mention, but the main 3 are to finish my Dear Jane, make an all-neutral quilt as a retirement gift for my boss, and finish my first large CW repro quilt. If I accomplish that, it will have been a great quilting year.

What a wonderful and generous giveaway!! Happy 3 years blogging! It is a lot of fun isn't it?!
My Jubilee Quilt top is one I really want to finish this year. I'm good at finishing but not always in a timely manner.

What a great giveaway! I'm so glad I still have time to enter :-) Congratulations on three years of blogging!

This year hmmm......I really want to make another project from the book Scrap Basket Sensations. I just love every project in there. Maybe if I just stopped sleeping I'd have time to make every one! Probably not wise. And I'd like to quilt the tops that I've already made. Sounds good for 2012!!

My bucket list quilt is a Crazy Quilt made with probably satin type fabrics. I rememeber one that my Great Grandmother "Mom B." had in her house and I loved it with all of it's hand embroidered embellishments. I was thinking the other day that if I pieced a couple of 9 inch blocks per week and then could con my daughter into helping me do the embroidery that it wouldn't be that daunting of a task.

What a lovely and generous giveaway! Thanks for a chance to win.

Wow, I was playing catch-up as usual, and just got to this post!

Happy Blogiversary, a few days late! Hard to believe it's only 3 years--I feel as if you've been around as long as I have! I don't even remember how I found your blog, but I'm glad I did.

Bucket list? Hmmm. I have tons I need to finish, and some I want to start, but there is a Jim Shore Christmas quilt I bought fabric for a few years back that I'd like to put together. I don't have any Christmas quilts at all.

Thanks for the giveaway!
