On my design floor today is the work in progress, the UFO Challenge pick of the month. Cut, sew, repeat. Cut sew repeat...for Jewel Box blocks
Pieces and parts awaiting assembly.
This is the barn raising layout, off center because I'm still sewing blocks, but will be 8x8. Lookit Jo's pretty one she made for Moda's Bake Shop: http://www.modabakeshop.com/2011/08/jewels-in-curio.html#more, which was the inspiration for the setting. Oops, there is one at the bottom turned the wrong way!
That's better. I believe I will have all the blocks sewn by deadline tonight, but don't think I can get all the rows sewn. If only a sewing fairy could do magic for me while I'm at work! See more design walls on Judy's Patchwork Times.

Looks great so far! Congratulations on spotting the turned block before it all was put together. I seem to have a knack for finding them later rather than sooner.
Who would know that a simple 4-patch and half square triangle could make such a stunning quilt design! Gorgeous, Annie!
Cheers!
Last minute for me too. Had to get my April UFO on the wall. I am procrastinating sitting here looking at all the pretty thumbnails that are drawing me in...
Hey, progress is progress, finshed or not! I think it looks great. I had to laugh at the "cut, sew, repeat" comment... sort of like my blog title... cut'n it up and sewing it back together!
Such a simple design yet stunning! Looks fab!!
Love it!! A great scrap quilt with a dramatic setting. Makes me want to start ones of those too! :)
This is looking wonderful and progress is definitely being made. The colors really do look like jewels.
Very pretty...and I liked the one that was turned the wrong way!
What yummy bright colors - and I like the off center setting. What does that say about me ??
That doggone work just keeps getting in the way of our really making progress some weeks.
Looking good! I like the asymmetrical layout.
Beautiful! In my book, any and all progress counts! because that's more done than was done before.
I love the way this looks all laid out. It's beautiful!
Stunning, love this one.
It is beautiful, Annie! I've always loved this layout, and your colors are so fun! Who needs work? (Oh, that's right--that's how we eat and stuff.)
Very pretty, love all the jewel tone scraps. You've made lots of progress.
What a pretty quilt! Such happy fabrics. Too bad the sewing fairies can't make more frequent visits!
I really like the barn raising layout...love all the colors! Hehehe I had to look twice to find the one turned the wrong way.
One of my all-time favorite patterns! Love yours!
ooooohhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhh that is totally awesomme! LOVE the colors in the jewel box quilt. And hey can you ask that sewing fairy to make a stop in IL when done at your place :)
Looks great and I love the colors they are so vibrant and will be great in a room. I would take a cleaning fairy if the sewing fairy is not taking new clients! :)
Your colors are so vibrant - they really do look look "gem like". Very pretty quilt. :)
