These blocks I won in a giveaway from Nicole at Sister's Choice a few years ago; the fabric line is Yuletide Blessings, though the prints aren't particularly Christmasy. Red, green, cream and tan--one of my favorite color combos. It only needs quilting and binding. Originally I had planned to play with feathers for the first time on this quilt...
But I'm chickening out under the pressures of time and will do something tried and true, like giant puzzle piece stippling. The backing fabric is from JoAnn's and the binding is all ready to go to, more crackle fabric in a nice light beige. I won't get to work on this in today's daylight--a trip to the airport and then a shift at the Senior Craft Shoppe will take up those hours. See more design walls on Judy's Patchwork Times.

Won't it be nice to have that one quilted up--it is so close! I don't know when (or if) I will get the courage to put feathers in a quilt. I have yet to make one feather that I liked.
I love this quilt and the fabric! Nice job.
The colours are my favourite, won't it be nice all quilted and ready to snuggle under.
This is just gorgeous, love the backing fabric you chose to match those beautiful blocks.
Lovely colours and fabrics. Even though its not traditionally Christmassy it still screams Christmas elegance to me.
When I first saw the photo I thought, "Oh I made something quite like that awhile back". I am so happy you have made such a pretty quilt with those blocks! The fabrics really are so elegant.
Maybe not your typical Christmas shades of red and green but that is kind of nice...you can use it year round. Very pretty.
So pretty! Look forward to seeing what you decide to quilt!
I don't find fabrics quite that pretty at JoAnn's (usually). Looks like you've found a perfect backing for the top. You'll be done before you know it!
It's a beauty, Annie. The backing is perfect.
Don't you just love it when you've completed the quilting and the binding is all ready to go? The backing goes so well with the blocks, you'd think they were from the same line.
I'm in good company, though my Oct UFO is still in a box in the closet! The quilt is very nice and I especially like the backing fabric.
This is a pretty line of fabric, and a sweet finish. There is nothing wrong with staying with the comfort zone in your project ~
:-}pokey
So, I'm reading this a couple of days later: do you have it quilted yet? How smart to have your binding ready. I have done that for my two Christmas quilts and it feels so good to know that after squaring I can finish and move on.
