Design Wall Monday--Feb 25, 2013

On my design surfaces are two ongoing projects.  I don't do a lot of applique but love the look so wade in once in a while.

I combed through my American Patchwork & Quilting mags to come up with a simple design for this tablerunner--to go with my simple machine applique skills!

A fat little Anne Sutton birdie, and a flower from another designer.  I'll link these with some green baby rick rack.

A few rows of the Picnic quilt were sewn and joined together.  I've had a bit of difficulty with some of the intersections and had to redo a few, but a perfectionist I am not!  This pattern makes me happy :)  See more design walls on Judy's Patchwork Times

The applique is so sweet and springy! Love the Picnic blocks - I found the ones I cut out months ago. Gotta get around to sewing them together.

The birds and flower are very cute, they should be nice and easy to appliqué.

A great idea to add applique!
Those picnic blocks would be hard to arrange I think...and easy to get rearranged when sewing the rows!

What a great picnic quilt that is going to be! And your applique pieces are really cute. I like the idea of using different pieces and making it your own.

You must be on the way to being a perfectionist because you re-did some of the joins. I do that too! If it's more than 1mm away I find the misjunction is too obvious to my discerning eye so I redo them. But, if they are closer than that and still not a perfect join, pfft. I love the quilt in the magazine picture at the top of the post.
