Stitching and Sewing

Though I haven't been posting much, needle and thread have been meeting regularly here.

A Valentine's runner I was making for sale at the Shoppe but finished too late.  So I kept it!

Hearts and loops for the quilting on this stitch and turn simple scrap project.  The darling cherry print is my favorite, and I don't really even like pink!  Maybe because there is some green in it :)

Another candy colored scrappy project.  I'm thinking it will be a sweet spring tablerunner for the Shoppe.

Do you think it too Valentine-y for Spring?  Maybe some flowers appliqued on top would be good.

Since I did not find any border fabric for this quilt top at the Road to California show, I substituted with leftovers from the Mystery Quilt.  This is a comfort sized quilt and will go to Quilts for Kids.  I know they need quilts for older kids and sometimes give quilts to other causes such as disaster relief.

Next will be finding a suitable backing from stash, flannel if I have enough.

A finished Greenpiece wool applique block...

...and a start on another.  I also cut out a bunch of pieces from the mustard colored wool for other blocks.  My too-ambitious Getting it Done list is suffering from the short month and too many non-sewing distractions, but I'll keep going.  Today I plan to finish hand stitching the binding on the blogaversary quilt and lay out the Picnic blocks and play switcheroo.  That should be entertaining!

Yeah the short month is catching up with me too. It's going much to fast. Even if you don't meet all your goals, it looks like you are making great progress.

Sweet runners and no, I don't think the second one is too valentine-y at all. It has some nice variety of fabrics. Fun the Quilt for Kids and gosh...love the wool work. Very very pretty. You're so productive Annie. I think I might be feeling the need to work on some binding now, too...

I think a couple of appliqué flowers would be fab to make it a lovely springtime table runner.
Lots of lovely projects going on for you this week.

I love the fabrics in the Valentine runner and the pink one os sweet too. I often wish I had a house that matched girly pink things ...

The border on the Quilts for Kids project is perfect!

I had that huge list for this month too and I forgot that I had about three less days this month to get it all done. Im still plugging along – although I totally lost it yesterday and started something new !

Bind the little pink table topper in green or yellow...then it will look very Spring like. Your Valentine runner turned out very cute, love the hearts.

Between the sewing room do over and all the projects you have been busy! No one can accuse you of loafing around that's for sure. I love the red and pink table runners both of them are so cute.

Pretty Valentine runner. We were both just a tad late on that holiday, weren't we? : )
I'm loving your wool applique!

The little pink runner would be cute in a girl's room - so not just for spring. Great projects!

Cute Valentine runner! Nice FMQ :-) I think the little pink runner can certainly be used for spring. It's funny that I have a spring quilt with that same pink 'jelly bean - looking' fabric in it :-)
