I spied a tree with some really pretty yellow flowers that look like daffodils.
Just as I was thinking to myself that these flowers looked like trumpets, I see a small marker below.
Well, whaddya know--I was right on!
On the wall behind the tree was this commemorative plaque. I had no recollection that The Queen and her Prince had visited Santa Barbara lo those many years ago. There are two other plaques--one commemorating the royals of Belgium visiting in 1919, and one for the King of Spain's visit. I don't think I'll get tired of people watching while I wait for the bus. I've seen three brides, numerous photographers, and a news van filming. And that's only one week's worth of happenings!

Hopefully the bus ride is more relaxing than the drive. People watching is a great way to pass the time.
People watching is a great way to pass the time. Beautiful tree flowers. I finally spied a crocus in bloom. The daffodils are trying but Mother Nature hasn't been cooperative.
Wow, what pretty flowers, I've never seen s Trumpet Tree before; I'm getting quite an education here today, nature and history! Thanks for an informative and beautiful post.
Like these posts soo much better than the TRAFFIC RANTS! LOL glad the commuting is working out
I didn't realize there was a Trumpet tree either....interesting.

I vaguely remember that visit - a trip to the western White House on the pass between Refugio and Santa Ynez. I remember going over that road long before the western White House days. Should do so again one of these days, it's a beautiful but VERY curvy drive *s*
